OX Alpha Psi 2022 Year in Review
OUR CHAPTER IS THRIVING!
Our fraternity is alive and well and both our undergraduate and alumni groups are thriving. We rallied for an amazing 2022 after a tough couple of years. So many alumni brothers stepped up in 2021 to help the Alpha Psi Alumni Association, Chapter Advisory Board and Housing Corporation breathe much needed life into our undergraduate and alumni operations. Below is a summary of our accomplishments from 2022:

- OX Alumni Association continued their monthly meeting cadence starts. We now have 20 alumni brothers each month, all with assigned roles, who help plan activities to benefit our alumni and undergraduates. The group meets on the 1stWednesday of each month at 7PM EST via Zoom.
- OX Housing Corp continues their monthly meeting cadence to tend to the affairs of the House.

- Participation in OX National’s Foundation Founders Day Challenge…finished second in the most donors category. The chapter coming in second will receive a special event catered by a local food truck. The winner of this prize will coordinate with a member of the International Headquarters staff for the planning of the event. In addition, your college/university’s flag will be raised and flown at the Theta Chi International Headquarters for one week with photo evidence provided to the chapter. 77 donation (2nd place) and $6610 raised (6th place) by Alpha Psi.

- Theta Chi Announces 2021/2022 Chapter Award Recipients…Maryland/Alpha Psi Recognized
- Washington, D.C. – Theta Chi Fraternity is elated to announce the 2021/2022 recipients of their Chapter Excellence Award during the 166th Anniversary Convention and 40th School of Fraternity Practices held in Washington, D.C.
- Twenty-eight (28) chapters were recognized with Chapter Excellence Awards for demonstrating strong performance in specific areas of chapter operations:

- Helping Hand Fundraising Campaign/1929 Picture Kicked Off… OX Fall 2022 Helping Hand Campaign, 1929 Framed Picture, For those that read the email, I am Chris 'Biff Jr' Marchand, Alpha Psi Spring '85 and I was identified as the contact person for the Commemorative Alpha Psi 1929 Framed Photo (more on that below). But, most importantly, last week's email was a request for a donation of $192.90 to help our house and the current brothers.

- Homecoming Golf: OX Homecoming 2022 Golf Tourney in the books…big shout out to Chris Grant for organizing an amazing event. Congrats to the team of Ebo Olds, Brian Goodwin , Tom Mavrikes (MVP) and Kevin Brown for the win.

- Oct 25…AA Career Night. Big shout out to young alumni John Donoghue (F18) for organizing an awesome alumni/undergrad career mentoring event last night. We had 20 alumni and 28 undergrads participating. Rob Mercer kicked off the event with a talk on the importance of the AA for the undergrads and then we had 8 breakout rooms with undergrad/alumni groups based on like career/major. Thanks to all the alumni who gave their time for this. Be on the lookout for another event like this in the spring.
November
- Penn State away football trip
- Established an undergrad/alumni working group to maximize brother occupancy in the House for the 23/24 school year.
- Negotiated new contract structure with property management company
- Initiated 12 brothers
- OX AA provides weekend meals for Sunday football watch. The OX Alumni Association in action…trying to get the Red/White dinner before chapter meeting going. The undergrads these days meet on Sunday nights for their weekly chapter meeting. Here is a shot of the undergrads chowing down on some Ledos pizza and wings in the House dining room (the old tv room). Thanks to alumni Scott Chismar (F84) for organizing the event and thanks to all alumni who have donated funds to make the event possible.
