A history of giving
No organized Alumni Association or Housing Corporation existed before 1972. The House was paid off and operations of the House were handled by the undergrads from 1929-1972. There was a guy named Bob Ayers…who was named on the entity that owned the House. He was an employee in the UMD athletic department and not really involved in OX.
- Jim Hodges 1972-1976 The Alumni Association was reformed early in 1972 after the fire. Jim took over from Bob Ayers when he graduated in 1971. One of the first things he did was to buy fire insurance for the House. Without that fire insurance we would not have been covered when we had the big fire in 1972.
- John Kobylski (Koby) 1976-1977
- Gage Thomas 1978-1979
- Slo graduated in 1979..was given the job right after graduation by Gage.
4. Slo Van Dyke 1980-1990
- Bob (Smooth) Lewis was Treasurer and Chapter Advisor for around ten years. Bob actually was a OX at U of Michigan but got his MBA at UMD and became involved with OX.
